5TH ANNUAL TOAST TO PINK – HAPPY HOUR (September 2016)
Debbie Schulte and Kathy Lapp, along with their planning committee, celebrate a successful 5th annual Toast to Pink Happy Hour in support of Susan G. Komen Greater Kansas City. Debbie and Kathy have dedicated countless hours to help raise more than $24,000 at this event, bringing the total to $84,000 raised in just five years. Congratulations on your hard work and successful years of effort!
THINK PINK – HAPPY HOUR (Thursday, September 4, 2014)
Debbie Schulte and Kathy Lapp of Kessinger Hunter were Executive Committee members of the Toast to Pink Happy Hour event on Thursday, September 4, 2014. It was celebrated once again on the Plaza at the Valencia Place lobby. This year’s proceeds were $15,750 and benefited Susan G. Komen Greater Kansas City.
THINK PINK – HAPPY HOUR (Friday, September 6, 2013)
The Kansas City Chapter of CREW held a fund raising event to benefit Susan G. Komen Foundation. Kessinger Hunter was a corporate sponsor for the event. It was a networking event with prizes and raffle items that was held in the lobby of Valencia Place and was attended by 125 real estate professionals. The CREW raised just under $14,000 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Debbie Schulte and Angie Braun of Kessinger Hunter have their own teams which include many Kessinger Hunter employees who race or donate to help this cause.

CREW KICKOFF to Fashion’s Night Out on the Country Club Plaza
Fashion’s Night Out is an annual, international retail event which was held on September 6, 2012. As a Kickoff, the Kansas City chapter of CREW held a fund raising event to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Kessinger Hunter was a corporate sponsor for the event. It was a networking event with prizes and raffle items that was held in the lobby of Valencia Place and was attended by 125 real estate professionals. Plaza retailers supported the event with models from the stores.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month October
Kessinger Hunter & Company joined thousands of companies nationwide participating in National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This event was held on Friday, October 23, 2009 and associates wore pink and donated $5.00 or more to enjoy a mouthwatering lunch! The company donated the food for the event. Also, some pretty neat door prizes were enjoyed by participants in a drawing. A total of $425.00 was raised during this event! Susan G. Komen for the Cure® was the beneficiary of the donations.

Kessinger Hunter & Company is a proud supporter of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. With associates who have battled breast cancer, this is a cause that hits close to home for us. We were pleased to make a substantial donation and to support two teams at the recent 2011 Kansas City Race for the Cure!
Kessinger Hunter & Company, LC associates were pleased to participate in a Harvesters Food Drive over the Thanksgiving holiday. The donation barrel was filled to the brim with canned goods and other non-perishables, enough food to make over 200 meals. In addition to the food drive, the company made a substantial financial contribution to Harvesters, enough to provide over 17,000 meals to families in need. The company celebrated with a lunch for all associates. Below, our CFO, Darold Frenzen, checking out the donation barrel.

Kessinger Hunter & Company associates contributed close to 300 pounds of donated items in our 2007 and 2008 food drives, enough food for almost 200 meals for individuals in our community.
Buck O’Neil Legacy Seat
Debbie Schulte of Kessinger Hunter was honored for her work to promote breast cancer awareness when she was selected to fill the Buck O’Neil Legacy Seat at Kauffman Stadium on May 18, 2012. 2011: Kessinger Hunter was pleased to donate $1,000.00 to Heart to Heart International, who is providing critical support for victims of the recent tornado in Joplin, Missouri. Pat McGannon and Matthew Severns of Kessinger Hunter presented the company check to Mark Donovan, President, Kansas City Chiefs and Clark Hunt, Chairman and Owner, Kansas City Chiefs.
Kessinger Hunter & Company associates recently donated over 30 hours of their time to work with the Salvation Army on Project Warmth (the annual blanket drive for those in need). Working in the Downtown Underground, volunteers sorted and loaded blankets and coats for a variety of local organizations to distribute.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand
2010: For the third consecutive year, Kessinger Hunter associates were pleased to participate in Alex’s Lemonade Stand “Lemonade Days,” an annual event to raise awareness of pediatric cancer and funds for research and development. Raising over $2,000, our stand was once again located on the Country Club Plaza near the Boar Fountain, and was staffed by Kessinger Hunter associates and their families and friends.
2009: For the second year in a row, Kessinger Hunter associates were pleased to participate in Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a fundraiser to fight pediatric cancer. Raising almost $2,000 over a two-day period, the stand was again located on the Country Club Plaza and staffed by Kessinger Hunter associates and their families and friends.
2008: Kessinger Hunter was proud to participate in Lemonade Days for the first time in June of 2008. Supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a very worthy cause, our booth on the Country Club Plaza, staffed by Kessinger Hunter associates and their families, raised over $2,700 in funds for childhood cancer research. We had the best first-year total of any Kansas City stand and plan to make it an annual event!
Star in Education

Kessinger Hunter & Company is pleased to be a business partner of the “Star In Education” program, which provides copies of the Kansas City Star newspaper to area schools on a daily basis to encourage knowledge of real-world events.
Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund
Greg Swetnam and Dan Jensen, both principals of Kessinger Hunter & Co., served as General Co-Chairs for the May 2007 Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund Dream Gala. The event set a new record for the JDRF efforts, raising more than $1.4 million for diabetes research. Kessinger Hunter & Co. is proud to play a part in such a worthy organization.
The Children’s Place
Through the sale of a cookbook filled with recipes contributed by Kessinger Hunter associates and their families, close to $1,000 was raised for The Children’s Place, an organization which provides specialized treatment and services to the very youngest victims of abuse, neglect, and other childhood traumas in the Kansas City area.
