Ed is active in all aspects of the retail real estate business including property management, redevelopment projects, leasing, and brokerage primarily in the Midwestern United States.
Ed began his commercial real estate career in Hartford, Connecticut with Cutter Operating Corporation, a developer and owner of shopping centers and office buildings in the northeastern United States. In 1984, he joined Leo Eisenberg Company in St. Louis, Missouri. Leo Eisenberg Company quickly grew to become the largest strip shopping center developer in the United States. During his tenure with Leo Eisenberg Company, Ed handled property management, management aspects of developing shopping centers, and developed information systems for the St. Louis office. In 1987, Ed was transferred to Tucson, Arizona to open a management office in this developing market. In 1989, the company moved Ed to the home office in Kansas City, Missouri to handle office and retail property management, portfolio management, and business development.
In 1992, Ed joined Kessinger/Hunter & Company, L.C. to handle portfolio management for a large institutional client. The client base grew quickly and his responsibilities expanded to include business development and the operation of the retail management department. In 1995, Ed joined Turley Martin Company in St. Louis to organize their real estate division and rejoined Kessinger/Hunter & Company, L.C. in 1996. Since then, Ed has been handling management and redevelopment projects for individual clients and is responsible for the output of retail property managers.
Clients have included Public Service Electric & Gas Company, PaineWebber Properties, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, NationsBank, Aetna, Ohio National Life Insurance, U.S. Life Insurance Company, Highwoods Realty, and P.O’B Montgomery & Company, as well as individual investors.
