State Farm Insurance Co. has signed a 10-year deal to lease nearly 43,000 square feet at Summit Technology Campus in Lee’s Summit.
Between 160 and 180 employees will work at the insurer’s operations center, said Colleen Sliffe, vice president of real estate services for Carrow Real Estate LLC, which owns the technology park and is based in Albany, NY.
The insurer will relocate its Midwestern operations facility from the Landmark Building near Interstate 70 and Little Blue Parkway in Independence, Sliffe said.
The lease brings the campus’s occupancy rate to 99.7 percent in a market where the average occupancy rate for the third quarter of 2010 was 82.7 percent.
Keith Baker and Mike Lanning of CB Richard Ellis (NYSE: CBG) represented the landlord. Greg Swetnam of Kessinger/Hunter and Co. LC represented the tenant.
